A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing P300,000 from a store in Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, early Friday morning, June 26, 2026.
Suspect identified through CCTV footage
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Zaldy,” is a 25-year-old single resident of Barangay Quiot, Cebu City. Talisay City Police Station officers quickly tracked him down by reviewing the store’s CCTV footage, which clearly showed Zaldy’s face along with another man who drove the motorcycle used in the crime.
Hot pursuit operation recovers cash box
During a hot pursuit operation, police recovered the steel box that had contained the money. However, of the alleged P300,000 inside, only P650 remained in cash when the box was recovered.
Manhunt continues for accomplice
Authorities are continuing a manhunt operation and a thorough investigation to locate and arrest Zaldy’s accomplice. According to the Talisay City Police Station, the investigation is ongoing.
