Davao City Graduates Lead Medical Technologists Licensure Exam with Top Scores

In a remarkable achievement, two graduates from Davao City have dominated the March 2026 Medical Technologists Licensure Examination, securing the top two spots nationwide. Reisz Wyrnel Camasin of San Pedro College of Davao claimed first place with an impressive average rating of 93 percent, while Dexter Masongsong Jr., also from San Pedro College, followed closely in second place with a score of 92.90 percent.

San Pedro College Celebrates High Passing Rates and Student Success

The San Pedro College–School of Medical Laboratory Science and Public Health reported an outstanding overall passing rate of 95.21 percent for the exam. First-time takers from the institution achieved an even higher pass rate of 97.08 percent, significantly exceeding the national average of 84.17 percent. In a Facebook post on March 11, 2026, the school praised its students, stating, "Your perseverance, passion, and dedication to the field of Medical Technology have brought immense pride and honor to the SPC community. May your achievements inspire the next generation of Medical Technologists to strive for excellence, serve with integrity, and carry forward this legacy of distinction." Following the examination, the college has now registered 338 new medical technologists.

National Top Performers and Exam Results Overview

Beyond the top two, other notable performers included Marc Ian B. Tuddao of Cagayan State University–Andrews Campus in third place with 92.80 percent, and Raphael James R. Bullecer of Velez College in fourth with 92.50 percent. Joseph O. Davalos of Our Lady of Fatima University–Laguna and Shekinah Psalm P. Sangalang of Angeles University Foundation tied for fifth place with 92.40 percent each. The sixth position was shared by Keith Karylle C. Fernandez and Kyian Crista L. Salvatierra of Far Eastern University–Manila, along with Clarc John M. Waje of Our Lady of Fatima University–Pampanga Inc., all scoring 92.30 percent.

Additional top scorers were Angeline L. Soriano of the University of Pangasinan (92.20 percent), Kirsten Zham G. Ocladina of Velez College (92.10 percent), and a three-way tie for ninth place among Darren Nichole C. Ocampo, Matthew Rafael G. Reantillo (both from FEU–Manila), and Zynth G. Sullano of the Adventist University of the Philippines, each with 91.90 percent. Sherwin Von L. Palaad of the Adventist University of the Philippines rounded out the top ten with a score of 91.80 percent.

Exam Administration and Final Outcomes

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) administered the exam across multiple locations, including the National Capital Region, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga. Out of 9,317 examinees, 7,838 passed, resulting in a national passing rate. However, results for five examinees remain withheld pending final determination of liabilities under PRC rules, as confirmed by the commission.
