DepEd TV Revitalized: Broadcast Learning Continues in Central Luzon
DepEd TV Revitalized for Learning in Central Luzon

The Department of Education (DepEd) has officially revitalized its broadcast-based learning platform, DepEd TV, to ensure educational continuity, particularly in areas frequently affected by calamities. As of January 2026, the service remains accessible for learners in Pampanga and the provinces of Bulacan, Bataan, and Nueva Ecija in Central Luzon.

Partnership for Educational Resilience

This initiative is the result of a collaboration between the Department of Education, the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc., and Solar Learning. The core mission is to sustain learning without compromising student safety when disasters strike. DepEd TV integrates curriculum-aligned programs into broadcast instructions, providing a reliable alternative when face-to-face or online classes are disrupted.

DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara emphasized the platform's critical role. "This initiative is part of the wider goal of the agency to ensure the continuity of quality learning no matter what kind of calamity we’re about to face," Angara stated. "We will use the DepEd TV to make learning more accessible – especially in areas which are often hit by typhoons."

What's on Air: Curriculum and Schedule

The revitalized DepEd TV offers a robust lineup of educational content. The Knowledge Channel airs 16 hours of Kinder to Grade 12 (K-12)-aligned programs every day, from Mondays to Sundays. The schedule includes pre-recorded video lessons for core subjects:

  • Filipino
  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Araling Panlipunan (Social Studies)
  • Science

Replays are available, ensuring students can catch up on lessons at their convenience. All content has been submitted to the DepEd's Learning Systems Strand in preparation for the platform's full relaunch.
