Philippines Misses 5th Miss Earth Crown as Czech Republic Wins 2025
Philippines Falls Short of 5th Miss Earth Crown

Philippines' Miss Earth 2025 Journey Ends in Top 8

The quest for a fifth Miss Earth crown for the Philippines concluded without victory as the Miss Earth 2025 pageant crowned its winner on Wednesday night, November 5, 2025. The prestigious event, held at the Okada Hotel in Parañaque City, saw Natalie Puskinova of the Czech Republic claim the ultimate title.

Joy Barcoma's Stellar Performance

The Philippine representative, Joy Barcoma, delivered a strong performance throughout the competition, successfully securing a spot in the Top 8 finalists. However, her journey ended there as she did not advance into the critical Top 4, dashing hopes for the country's fifth victory in the environmental-themed pageant.

During the final question and answer segment, which focused on the topic of law, Barcoma gave a compelling response. She stated, "No one is above the law. Every decision that our politicians make and every policy our government officials pass affects everyone. Social justice and environmental justice are also human justice. Every law we pass must protect every person on Earth." Her answer highlighted the intrinsic connection between governance, social equity, and environmental protection.

A Look Back at Philippine Triumphs

A win for Barcoma would have marked a significant milestone, equaling the country's record with a fifth Miss Earth title. The Philippines has a storied history in the competition, with previous victories secured by:

  • Karla Henry (2008)
  • Jamie Herrell (2014)
  • Angelia Ong (2015)
  • Karen Ibasco (2017)

The 2025 court was completed by the elemental titleholders. Soldis Ivarsdottir of Iceland was named Miss Earth Air, Mu Anh Trinh of Vietnam was awarded Miss Earth Water, and Waree Ngamkham of Thailand won the title of Miss Earth Fire.
