The mother of the late basketball player Rene Baterbonia has rejected the apology offered by Ateneo de Manila University men's basketball head coach Tab Baldwin. In a social media post, Rovelyn Baterbonia stated that an apology cannot undo the death of her son. She emphasized that she only wants the truth to be revealed about what really happened. She also expressed disbelief that her son's death was merely an accident, adding that if it were an accident, they should have been promptly informed. She further criticized that the university posted on social media about her son's death without providing any supporting images. It will be recalled that Baldwin admitted the incident was an accident, as was the case with Divine Adili, who died on Monday morning in the waters off Aurora.
