Actor Dennis Trillo expressed gratitude to God after his eldest son, Calix, survived a vehicular accident early Monday morning, May 25. In a Facebook post that was later deleted but reshared by netizens, Dennis revealed that his 18-year-old son fell asleep while driving alone around 5 a.m.
Details of the Accident
According to the actor's post, Calix was driving alone when he fell asleep at the wheel. He hit an island and the car overturned. The impact caused significant damage to the vehicle. Fortunately, no other vehicles or individuals were involved in the incident.
Injuries Sustained
Dennis stated that Calix sustained only bruises on his head and arms, as well as swelling on his left hand. The actor expressed profound relief that the situation was not worse. "Not everyone is this lucky in an accident. Thank God it was just that," he said.
Safety Reminder
The actor used the incident to remind the public about the dangers of driving while drowsy. "Lesson: if you're sleepy, don't force yourself to drive. You can stop over first to stretch or take a nap," he added.
Background
Calix is Dennis Trillo's son from former beauty queen-actress Carlene Aguilar. Dennis also has another son, Dylan, with his wife Jennylyn Mercado. Calix was previously involved in a vehicular accident in 2014 when the school van he was riding in was hit in Quezon City.
