Jayvee Lyn Lorejo: Davao's Darling of the Press Eyes Miss World Philippines Crown

In the ongoing Miss World Philippines pageant, a fresh face has captured the spotlight: Jayvee Lyn Lorejo, a 25-year-old from the Davao Region. Despite being a newcomer to the beauty pageant scene, she quickly made her mark by being declared the "Darling of the Press," a title that has propelled her into the favorites' circle. The coronation night is set for Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, where 24 candidates from local and international communities will compete for the coveted crown.

Overwhelming Recognition and Regional Support

In an interview with Superbalita Cebu, Jayvee expressed her elation at the recognition. "I got overwhelmed because out of so many of us, I was chosen as Darling of the Press. I think it's the first time that someone from Davao Region has won this title for Miss World, and I'm really happy for that," she shared. This achievement has drawn significant attention, especially from the Visayan community, as Cebu did not send a candidate this year. Jayvee acknowledged this support, stating, "Of course, I'm very happy that many Cebuanos want me to win. I know how solid the pageant fans in Cebu are. I hope they support me all the way to the international stage."

Charity Work and Advocacy in Cebu

Recently, Jayvee visited Cebu as part of her charity initiatives for Miss World Philippines. During her trip, she reflected on her connection to the Queen City of the South. "It feels great. I'm happy to be here, and I hope before I go to Manila, I can eat lechon and that lumpia-like dish... ngohiong!" she said with a smile. Her visits to Cebu are not new; as a flight attendant, she has been there multiple times. Last year, she was involved in her "Pangga Project," aiding victims of Typhoon Tino, particularly the elderly, in partnership with the Manang Inday Foundation.

Deep-Rooted Advocacy: The Pangga Project

Jayvee's advocacy centers on elderly care, a cause close to her heart. "It's my way to honor my grandmother, my Lola Belen. We know that the elderly in the Philippines are often neglected. So, with my Pangga Project, maybe it's a stepping stone to prioritize our seniors," she explained. Growing up with her grandmother, she witnessed firsthand the struggles faced by older adults, as her parents are separated. At home, she lives with Lola Belen and has rescued 10 dogs and 10 cats, stray animals she cares for. One of her ultimate dreams is to establish an animal shelter in Davao City.

Pageant Journey and Personal Reflections

Jayvee admitted that her Miss World experience has been surprising. "I was shocked because the pageant industry has so many fans. I didn't expect people to cheer and shout for me. I'm not used to facing large crowds, even though I'm a flight attendant; I'm kinda introverted," she revealed. Her preparations involve a strict diet, extensive training in pasarella and Q&A sessions, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. When asked about her beauty queen idol, she looks up to Megan Young, the first Filipina to win Miss World. "Despite her age, she has maintained her classy and elegant demeanor. It's something I want to embody as I grow old," Jayvee shared.

As the pageant approaches, Jayvee Lyn Lorejo stands out not just for her beauty but for her heartfelt advocacy and humble personality, making her a strong contender for the Miss World Philippines title.
