Melanie Marquez Alleges Abduction, Forced Rehab by Husband in 2022
Melanie Marquez Claims Abduction, Forced Confinement

Former Miss International Melanie Marquez has made shocking allegations against her American husband, claiming she was abducted and forced into a rehabilitation facility against her will. The beauty queen and actress revealed these details in an exclusive interview on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" on January 5, 2026.

Allegations of Abduction and Confinement

Marquez, who won the Miss International title in 1979, stated that the incident occurred on her birthday, July 16, 2022. She alleged that her husband, Randy "Adam" Lawyer, was responsible for her abduction. According to her account, she was then confined in a mental health facility for 10 days.

"I was abducted and injected. I could not move. I disappeared and was placed in a mental hospital," Marquez told host Boy Abunda. She vehemently denied claims of mental illness, asserting she was fully capable, caring for her two sons and managing a construction project at the time.

Her situation reportedly worsened when she was transferred to a rehabilitation center, where she says she was held for eight months against her will. During this period, Marquez claims she endured physical, mental, emotional, and verbal abuse.

Struggle for Her Children and Independence

One of the most painful aspects of her ordeal, Marquez emphasized, was being separated from her children. She clarified that the "two boys" she was caring for are her sons, Mazeen and Adam, both of whom are on the autism spectrum.

She strongly refuted any suggestion that her children were removed from her care due to fears she might harm them. "My goodness. The only one I fear is the Lord. I would never harm myself or the people I love. They are my strength," she declared.

To counter allegations made against her, Marquez presented results from blood, hair follicle, and saliva tests which she said were negative for illegal substances. She attributed experiences of depression to a lack of support from her husband and highlighted that she had been financially supporting herself and her children.

Moving Forward: Divorce and Legal Action

After years of suffering, Melanie Marquez is now determined to reclaim her life and live independently. A significant part of this effort is her resolve to pursue a divorce from Randy Lawyer.

In a proactive legal step, she revealed that in November 2025, she approached the Bureau of Immigration to seek the cancellation of her husband's visa to prevent his return to the Philippines.

Marquez's family includes children from previous relationships: a son, Manuelito, with Senator Lito Lapid; two daughters, Maxine and Michelle Dee, with former actor-director Derek Dee; Mazeen from a relationship with an Arab sheikh; and Abraham and Adam with Randy Lawyer.
