Paolo Contis Celebrates Christmas in Cebu with Kids, Defines Modern Family
Paolo Contis on blended family with Lian Paz, John Cabahug

Actor Paolo Contis recently made headlines for his heartwarming and modern approach to family during the holiday season, splitting his time between Manila and Cebu to be with all his loved ones.

A Holiday Split Between Two Homes

Before the end of 2025, Paolo Contis traveled to Cebu to celebrate Christmas with his two children, Xonia and Xalene, whom he shares with former wife Lian Paz. The actor later returned to Manila before the New Year to spend time with his mother, ensuring he connected with both sides of his family.

Contis took to social media to share photos from his well-spent holiday, captioning them, “A very well-spent holiday, kasama ang aking pamilya sa Manila at sa Cebu. Mahal ko kayong lahat.” This glimpse into his personal life highlighted a peaceful and coordinated family dynamic.

Defining a Modern, Blended Family

In a text message to Pep Troika, Contis opened up about his unique family setup. He considers Lian Paz and her current husband, John Cabahug, as part of his family. The reason is their shared commitment: they collectively shoulder the responsibility of raising his children with Paz.

“You can call it modern or a blended family. What matters is that the center of our relationship is our love for the kids,” Contis explained. This statement underscores a mature and child-focused co-parenting relationship that prioritizes the well-being of Xonia and Xalene above all else.

Hopes for Future Family Reunions

While celebrating the family he has in the Philippines, Contis also expressed a heartfelt hope for the future. He longs to reunite with his daughter, Summer, whom he shares with another former partner, actress LJ Reyes. Summer is currently based in the United States.

This desire adds another layer to Contis's definition of family, showing his love and concern extends across borders. His story presents a contemporary picture of Filipino family life, where relationships evolve but the core values of love and responsibility remain steadfast.
