Man thrown into septic tank in Naga City

A 28-year-old bachelor was injured after being thrown into a septic tank by a man described as a drug user on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at around 9:20 a.m. in Mohon 2, Barangay Langtad, Naga City.

Victim and Suspect Identified

The victim, Eldie L. Pallermo, Jr., a bachelor and baluster maker who resides in the area, incurred bruises and injuries from the incident. He was the target of the anger of suspect Christopher Deniega, 32, also a bachelor, who is now detained at the Naga Police Station facing a physical injury complaint.

Argument Leads to Assault

Police Senior Master Sgt. Jake Catane, investigator of the Naga City Police Station, told Superbalita Cebu that Deniega had been arguing with his father. The suspect wanted to sell their house to get money for his drug habit, but the father refused, knowing the purpose of the funds. This angered the suspect, who became violent and intended to kill someone.

The victim, who was going up to the suspect's parents' house, tried to avoid being involved in the quarrel. However, the suspect chased him, caught up, and threw him into the septic tank.

“The victim suffered severe bruises, especially on his back, because he was thrown forcefully,” said PSMSG Catane.

It was learned that the suspect harbored jealousy or envy toward Pallermo because the latter was favored by the suspect's parents. The victim was a companion of Deniega's father whenever there was work and was allowed to stay in their house because he was a good person.

Previous Arson Case

The suspect had previously been reported by his parents for arson in 2019 when he burned their house. However, the case was dismissed when the family lost interest in pursuing the complaint.
