Mafar-Barmm Boosts Tawi-Tawi Farmers with Agri Inputs, Equipment
Tawi-Tawi Farmers Get Agri Aid from Mafar-Barmm

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Mafar-Barmm) has delivered a significant boost to farmers in the southern province of Tawi-Tawi. This initiative involves the turnover of essential agricultural inputs and modern equipment to a local farmers' group, aiming to strengthen food production and economic resilience in the community.

Substantial Support for Lambog Farmers Association

On Thursday, December 18, 2025, Mafar-Barmm confirmed that the recipient of this substantial aid is the Lambog Farmers Association (LFA) based in Panglima Sugala, Tawi-Tawi. The LFA is an Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organization (ARBO) recognized by the ministry for its active role and notable progress in community-led livelihood projects.

The assistance, which was physically provided the week prior, included a wide array of items designed to address multiple aspects of farming:

  • 150 rolls of hog wire
  • 100 rolls of barbed wire
  • Four cassava graters with pressers
  • One coffee grinder
  • 24,000 cassava stalks
  • One animal shed

Goals for Enhanced Productivity and Sustainability

This support falls under the Ministry's Mafarducers program (Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform Development of United Communities for Economic Reform and Sustainability). The core objective is to empower farmers by increasing productivity and promoting sustainable economic activities.

In an official statement, Mafar-Barmm outlined the expected impacts of this intervention. The inputs are projected to significantly boost the association's cassava production and processing capabilities. Furthermore, the coffee grinder will aid in developing small-scale coffee operations, while the wires and animal shed will strengthen livestock management and overall farm security.

The ministry emphasized that this holistic package is designed to contribute to a more organized and sustainable farming system for all LFA members, moving them toward greater self-sufficiency.

A Call for Collective Action and Proactive Development

Alongside the material support, Mafar-Barmm officials urged the members of the Lambog Farmers Association to work collectively and maintain a proactive stance in enhancing their agricultural practices. The success of the program hinges not just on the provision of resources but on the effective and collaborative utilization by the beneficiary community.

This move by the Bangsamoro government highlights a continued focus on uplifting agrarian reform communities and investing in the agricultural backbone of the region, ensuring that farmers in areas like Tawi-Tawi have the tools needed to thrive.
