P45M Presidential Aid Released for Negros Occidental Typhoon Victims
Marcos Jr. Distributes P45M Typhoon Aid in Negros Occidental

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. personally delivered crucial financial assistance to typhoon-ravaged communities in Negros Occidental during his visit to La Castellana on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The National Government released P45 million in Presidential Assistance Fund specifically for local government units severely affected by Typhoon Tino.

Immediate Financial Relief Distribution

During the President's inspection of the evacuation center at La Castellana Elementary School in Barangay Robles, Vice Mayor Rhummyla Nicor-Mangilimutan confirmed they received P10 million in immediate assistance. The neighboring town of Moises Padilla also received P10 million, while Binalbagan, Isabela, and Hinigiran were allocated P5 million each.

This substantial financial injection comes on top of the P50 million previously allocated for provincial typhoon response and rehabilitation efforts. Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson confirmed the provincial funds are already available and will be used for cash assistance or housing materials for affected families.

Comprehensive Support Beyond Cash

The assistance package extends beyond financial support. The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) turned over construction materials for families who lost their homes during the November 4 typhoon. This dual approach of cash and material support addresses both immediate and long-term recovery needs.

According to Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office records, Typhoon Tino affected 39,102 families across 31 local government units in Negros Occidental. The scale of devastation prompted President Marcos to approve a state of national calamity declaration on November 6.

Long-term Recovery Commitment

Governor Lacson emphasized that addressing Typhoon Tino's disaster impacts requires sustained effort, noting that solutions cannot be achieved quickly. President Marcos reassured residents that the National Government remains aware of the situation not only in Negros Occidental but throughout all calamity-affected regions of the country.

The coordinated response demonstrates the administration's commitment to supporting communities through the challenging recovery process following one of the most destructive typhoons to hit the region this year.
