PNP Deploys Forces for Typhoon Inday Response

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. has ordered the deployment of additional police forces and the preparation of personnel and equipment to respond to the effects of Typhoon Inday in several parts of the country.

Typhoon Inday's Impact

Although Typhoon Inday did not make landfall directly, it triggered landslides and flooding in several areas, particularly in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. The disaster has so far claimed 18 lives, while 14 individuals remain missing.

PNP Response Operations

According to Nartatez, the PNP remains active in search and rescue operations, clearing operations, distribution of aid, and other measures for those affected by the calamity. The police force has been on heightened alert status nationwide to ensure immediate response to the needs of affected communities.
