CEBU, Philippines - In a testament to their dedication to duty, sixty-seven police officers across Central Visayas have been personally affected by the recent typhoon while continuing to serve their communities during the natural disaster.
Regional Police Force Weathers the Storm
Police Regional Office (PRO-7) director Police Brigadier General Anthony Aberin confirmed that the typhoon's impact reached the very protectors of the community. Despite facing personal challenges from the severe weather, these officers remain committed to their disaster response responsibilities.
Breakdown of Affected Personnel
The regional police force reported the following distribution of affected officers:
- Negros Oriental: 35 police personnel
- Cebu Province: 23 officers impacted
- Bohol: 9 affected police members
Maintaining Operational Readiness
Despite the personal setbacks faced by these officers, Police Brigadier General Aberin emphasized that the regional police force maintains full operational capability. "Our personnel continue to perform their duties effectively, ensuring public safety remains our top priority despite the challenges posed by the typhoon," Aberin stated.
