The state weather bureau has warned that continuous rain will persist over large parts of the country until Tuesday, July 14. According to the July 11 forecast, the southwest monsoon is expected to bring a series of rain events affecting many regions.
Rainfall Forecast by Period
The weather bureau provided detailed rainfall projections for three periods. From July 11 to July 12, areas expected to receive 100-200 mm of rain include Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro. Meanwhile, 50-100 mm is forecast for La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, Palawan, Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental.
For July 12 to July 13, the same 100-200 mm range applies to Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro. The 50-100 mm range expands to include Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Palawan, Antique, and Aklan.
From July 13 to July 14, only Zambales is forecast to receive 100-200 mm. The 50-100 mm range covers Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Tarlac, Bataan, Pampanga, and Occidental Mindoro.
Risk of Flooding and Landslides
Since many parts of the country are already experiencing rain this week, the weather bureau warned that the continuous rain into the next week could cause widespread flooding and landslides. Residents in affected areas are advised to take precautionary measures and stay updated on weather advisories.
