Four Major Weather Systems Influence Philippine Climate
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Saturday that four distinct weather systems continue to influence weather patterns across the archipelago. The state weather bureau issued its comprehensive bulletin at 4 a.m., detailing the specific impacts on different regions throughout the country.
Regional Weather Breakdown and Affected Areas
The shear line is currently affecting several provinces in Northern Luzon, including Apayao, Kalinga, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya. Residents in these areas should prepare for cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is bringing significant weather activity to Mindanao and Palawan. The Caraga Region, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. The rest of Mindanao can expect partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, continues to affect Batanes and the broader Cordillera region, resulting in cloudy skies with rains. The Ilocos region will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the same weather system.
Wind Conditions and Maritime Forecast
PAGASA also provided detailed wind and sea condition forecasts for different parts of the country. Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds accompanied by moderate to rough seas, requiring caution for maritime activities.
The Visayas and remaining parts of Luzon will have moderate winds and moderate seas, while Mindanao can expect light to moderate winds with slight to moderate sea conditions. The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to the rest of the country not affected by the other weather systems.
The weather bureau continues to monitor all developing weather patterns and advises the public to stay updated through official channels for any changes in the forecast.
