The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that several parts of the Philippines will continue to experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The state weather bureau attributed this condition to multiple weather systems affecting the country.
Affected Regions and Weather Systems
According to PAGASA, the combined influence of the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the shear line, and the easterlies is expected to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to a number of areas. Residents in the following regions should stay alert:
- BARMM
- Soccsksargen
- Bicol Region
- Cagayan
- Isabela
- Apayao
- Aurora
- Quezon
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, will cause isolated light rains in the provinces of Batanes and Ilocos Norte. For the rest of the country, isolated rain showers are anticipated due to the effects of the ITCZ and the easterlies.
Potential Hazards and Precautionary Measures
PAGASA issued a crucial warning for areas under the influence of the significant weather systems. Moderate to heavy rains could trigger flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas. The public, especially those living in low-lying and mountainous regions, is advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with official weather bulletins.
In terms of sea conditions, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are forecast to prevail across the northern and western sections of Luzon. Fisherfolk and those with small seacraft are urged to remain cautious.
No Tropical Cyclone Development
In a reassuring note for the nation, PAGASA confirmed that it is not monitoring any low-pressure area for possible tropical cyclone formation at this time. This indicates a lower probability of the weather situation escalating into a more severe storm system in the immediate future.
