Tropical Depression 'Verbena' has made landfall in the municipality of Bayabas, Surigao del Sur, according to the latest weather bulletin from Philippine authorities.

The weather system officially came ashore at approximately 1:30 PM on Monday, November 24, 2025, marking the beginning of its journey across the southern Philippines. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued Tropical Cyclone Bulletin #5, indicating that areas under Wind Signal No. 1 should prepare for moderate to minor impacts from strong winds.
Based on the forecast track, Verbena was expected to move through the Caraga Region throughout Monday afternoon and into the early evening before continuing its path toward the Visayas and northern Palawan.
Projected Path and Timeline
The weather disturbance is forecast to traverse the Visayas and northern Palawan from Monday night through Tuesday evening. Pagasa estimates Verbena will emerge over the West Philippine Sea by Wednesday morning, November 26.
Following this, the tropical depression is predicted to turn westward, passing north of the Kalayaan Islands before completely exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday, November 27.

Cebu Province is expected to experience rainfall, gusty winds, and rough sea conditions as the weather system likely crosses the Visayas as a tropical depression on Tuesday. Although Cebu has been placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1, areas not under any wind signal may still experience rains ranging from moderate to storm intensity, particularly in coastal and elevated regions.
The entire Visayas region and numerous provinces should prepare for scattered to heavy rainfall due to the combined effects of Verbena and the northeast monsoon. This weather combination could potentially trigger flooding or landslides in vulnerable areas.
