Typhoon Uwan Weakens Over West Philippine Sea, TCWS Signals Raised
Typhoon Uwan Weakens, Exits Philippine Area

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Monday, November 10, 2025, that Typhoon Uwan has continued to lose strength as it moves further away from the country's landmass.

Current Status and Movement

As of 10 a.m. on Monday, the weather bureau located Typhoon Uwan approximately 135 kilometers west-northwest of Bacnotan, La Union. The typhoon carried maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near its center, with gustiness reaching up to 160 km/h and central pressure of 970 hectopascals.

The storm maintains a west-northwestward movement at 20 km/h. According to Pagasa's forecast, Uwan will follow a recurving path, turning more northwestward throughout Monday, northward on Tuesday, November 11, and northeastward for the remainder of the forecast period.

Forecast and Intensity Projections

Pagasa indicated that Uwan may experience brief reintensification on Monday and Tuesday while moving over waters southwest of Taiwan. However, the typhoon is expected to begin weakening from Wednesday, November 12, onward.

The weather bureau anticipates that Uwan will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) either Monday night or early Tuesday morning. There's a possibility the typhoon could reenter PAR on Wednesday evening as it makes landfall over southwestern Taiwan, which would result in further weakening.

By Thursday, November 13, Uwan is projected to emerge over waters near the Ryukyu Islands, where it's expected to eventually weaken into a remnant low on Friday, November 14.
