The Filipino community in Lebanon joined the celebration of the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence Day. According to FilCom leader in Beirut, Lisa Robredillo, this is part of the contribution of overseas Filipinos in commemorating an important chapter in the country's history. She said the program was organized by their association, the OFW Magbaysay Organization.

Patriotic Activities

The occasion was celebrated through various patriotic activities such as singing nationalistic songs and performing traditional dances like Cariñosa and Tinikling. Despite the ongoing conflict in Lebanon, the Filipino community remained steadfast in showing their love for the country.

Situation in Lebanon

According to Robredillo, while the situation in the capital Beirut remains stable, attacks continue in the southern part of Lebanon.
