Egyptian National Fatally Shot in Zamboanga City Attack
An Egyptian educator was murdered in a brutal shooting incident in Zamboanga City, sending shockwaves through the local community. The Zamboanga City Police Office confirmed the tragic event occurred on Saturday evening, November 29.
Details of the Fatal Shooting
The victim has been identified as Abdalrahman Elshawadfy Mohammed Elfaky, whose identity was established through a driver's license found at the crime scene. According to Police Colonel Fidel Fortaleza Jr., director of the Zamboanga City Police Office, the attack took place around 6:20 p.m. at the boundary between Lumbangan and Divisoria villages.
Investigative reports indicate that Elfaky was driving his vehicle when motorcycle-riding suspects pulled alongside him and opened fire. The assailants immediately fled the scene after the shooting, leaving the victim with fatal gunshot wounds.
Ongoing Investigation and Community Response
Councilor Fredrick Atilano, who chairs the City Council's Committee on Peace and Order, revealed that the Egyptian national had been temporarily residing in Zamboanga City while serving as the administrator of Asia Academic School located in Tetuan village.
Police authorities have launched a comprehensive manhunt for the perpetrators and are currently reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the vicinity as part of their investigation. Councilor Atilano has made a public appeal for anyone with relevant information to assist law enforcement, assuring that all tips will be handled with strict confidentiality.
