GCash Prolongs Zero-Fee Transfers to Middle East Until 2026 to Support Filipinos
In a significant move to alleviate financial pressures, GCash has announced an extension of its zero-fee policy for transfers to and from the Middle East until April 30, 2026. This initiative is designed to help ease the burden on its users and their families, particularly in light of ongoing developments in the region.
Supporting Overseas Filipinos and Families
The extension allows overseas Filipinos in affected areas to maintain connections with loved ones in the Philippines and receive assistance without incurring additional costs. This effort aligns with the national government's ongoing commitment to prioritize the safety and welfare of overseas Filipinos, ensuring they can manage their finances more effectively during challenging times.
Eligible Countries and Transaction Details
Filipinos residing in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Israel, Lebanon, and Jordan will benefit from waived fees for bank transfers to the Philippines, as well as other transactions such as buying load and paying bills. The waived transaction fees will be credited back to users via in-app cashback, with no registration required. Eligible fees are automatically returned to GCash accounts, and users receive an in-app notification confirming the successful cashback credit.
Two-Way Free Transfers and Future Considerations
Additionally, GCash users in the Philippines can remit money to loved ones in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman for free through GCash International Transfer. The primary goal is to make everyday transactions more affordable, accessible, and seamless for Filipinos. GCash will continue to monitor regional developments closely and assess the potential need for further extensions of these financial relief measures as necessary.
