The Land Transportation Office–Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) has officially served a show cause order (SCO) to the driver of a vehicle involved in a widely circulated social media incident. This driver gained notoriety for rapidly departing from a fuel station in Negros Occidental without settling the payment for fuel, sparking public outrage and scrutiny.

Delivery of the Show Cause Order

Under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge Regional Director Jeck D. Conlu, the LTO-NIR, in collaboration with its Intelligence and Investigation Unit (IIU), executed the delivery of the SCO. The order was personally delivered to the residence of the registered vehicle owner located in Salvacion, Murcia, Negros Occidental. Although the owner was not present at the time, a family member accepted the order on her behalf. The incident that prompted this legal action occurred on February 27, 2026, at a gas station situated in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City. According to police records, the driver in question requested P500 worth of unleaded gasoline. After the fuel was dispensed, the driver hastily fled the scene toward Murcia Road without making any payment. This act was captured on video and quickly spread across various social media platforms, drawing significant attention and condemnation from the public.
