Victim Identified as Paulino Taneo

The victim has been identified as Paulino Taneo, an elderly resident of Barangay Poblacion, Borbon. He was rushed to Sogod District Hospital, where doctors declared him dead-on-arrival due to severe head and body injuries sustained in the collision.

Driver of Wing Van Detained

The driver of the wing van, Reynaldo Ondong, 45, a resident of Barangay Balao, Barili, has been detained at the Catmon Police Station. Authorities are preparing appropriate charges against him as the investigation continues.

Initial Investigation Details

According to the initial investigation by the Catmon Police, Taneo was traveling at high speed toward Cebu City. While attempting to overtake another vehicle, he suddenly encountered the wing van heading toward the northern part of the province.

Due to the high speed, Taneo's motorcycle was struck, causing it to fall and become trapped under the truck. He was subsequently run over by the wheels, resulting in fatal injuries that led to his death.
