President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. underscored the importance of parents being actively involved in their children's lives, following a recent school shooting incident where the suspects were all minors.
President Calls for Parental Guidance
In a statement, Marcos said that while government action is crucial to prevent a repeat of the incident, the proper guidance of parents should not be overlooked. He stressed that parents must play an active role in their children's upbringing to instill proper values.
Role of Teachers and Schools
The President also emphasized that teachers should continue their duty not only in teaching but also as guides and counselors. Schools must ensure strict compliance with safety rules inside and outside classrooms, as well as during field trips, training camps, and other school activities.
Restoring Respect for Life
Marcos called for a renewed emphasis on the value of human life, teaching proper conduct, attitudes, and thinking. He urged all sectors to work together to prevent similar incidents in the future.
