Talisay City Jail Inmates Wed in Special Ceremony

In a powerful display of commitment and hope, six Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) from the Talisay City Jail Male Dormitory (TCJMD) and one newly released individual exchanged vows in a special mass wedding ceremony. This unique event proves that love can flourish even behind bars, fostering family unity as a cornerstone for rehabilitation.

A Ceremony of Hope and New Beginnings

The wedding was solemnized on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the House of Worship. The ceremony was officiated by Fr. Monico Catubig, bringing a profound sense of sanctity and joy to the occasion. This initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the jail's Welfare and Development Section and the Cebu Archdiocesan Prison Apostolate (Capa).

Community Support for Rehabilitation

Jail Warden Josephus Jeliangco led the proceedings, which were witnessed by the PDLs' emotional family members and their principal sponsors. The ceremony was followed by a simple yet heartfelt reception, allowing the couples and their loved ones to celebrate the milestone. The TCJMD firmly believes that a strong family foundation plays an indispensable role in the successful rehabilitation of PDLs, helping them reintegrate into society as reformed individuals.
