The Diocese of Antipolo has officially designated twenty-five churches as special pilgrimage sites for the upcoming Jubilee Year in 2026. This significant announcement is part of the dual celebration of the Catholic Jubilee Year and the 400th Anniversary of the arrival of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje) in the Philippines.
A Pilgrimage Structured on Four Spiritual Paths
Led by the International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage | Immaculate Conception, also known as the Antipolo Cathedral, the selected Jubilee Voyage Churches are organized into four thematic routes. Each route represents a core Christian virtue, guiding the faithful on a structured spiritual journey throughout the year.
The Roads of Faith, Hope, Peace, and Love
The "Road of Faith" includes six parishes: St Raphael the Archangel Parish, the National Shrine – Parish of Our Lady of Aranzazu, Sto Niño Parish, Holy Family Parish, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Paul of the Cross, and St Francis Xavier Parish.
On the "Road of Hope," pilgrims can visit the Nativity of Our Lady Parish, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados, Immaculate Conception Parish, the National Shrine – Parish of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.
The "Road of Peace" features Nuestra Señora de los Angeles Parish, Sacred Heart Parish, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Saint Clement, Christ the King Parish, the Minor Basilica and Parish of St John the Baptist, and the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Light.
Finally, the "Road of Love" comprises St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, San Diego de Alcala Parish, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Mary Magdalene, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of the Holy Face of Jesus of Manoppello, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of St Joseph, and St Rose of Lima Parish.
A Call to Pilgrimage and Spiritual Renewal
With the official list now public, the Diocese is actively encouraging the faithful to embark on a pilgrimage to visit these sacred sites. The goal is to allow Catholics to reconnect with the rich history of the local Church and to experience a profound renewal of their faith.
In a statement, the Diocese conveyed a powerful message: "As the Diocese of Antipolo opens the doors of its Jubilee Churches, we enter not only a year of celebration but a year of grace; one that draws us back into the heart of our history, our identity, and our mission as a pilgrim people… We are a pilgrim Church, yes, but we are also a missionary Church."
The statement further elaborated on the deeper meaning of the journey, adding, "As pilgrims set foot in these sacred places, they will encounter not only the beauty of architecture or the richness of tradition, but the living presence of Christ in His people… This Jubilee is not simply about travelling from one church to another. It is about journeying inward, allowing God to renew our hearts."
This initiative, set for January 2026, promises to be a landmark event for Catholics in the Antipolo diocese and beyond, blending historical commemoration with a vibrant call to contemporary spiritual growth.
