Black Nazarene Visits 15 Manila Barangays Jan 1-6

The Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, widely known as Quiapo Church, has announced the schedule for the traditional Barangay Visitation of its iconic image in early 2026. This annual event precedes the massive feast day that draws millions of devotees to the streets of Manila.

Full Schedule of the 2026 Barangay Visitation

According to an official social media post from the Quiapo Church, the Barangay Visitation 2026 will run from January 1 to January 6. The religious activity involves bringing the image of the Jesus Nazareno to communities under the care of the Minor Basilica and National Shrine.

The journey begins on Thursday, January 1, 2026, with a procession starting at 2 p.m. The first destination for the sacred icon will be Barangay 309.

Daily Itinerary and Overnight Vigils

The detailed itinerary released by the church outlines the following stops:

  • January 2: Barangays 308, 306, 307, and 385. The image will stay in Barangay 385 for an overnight vigil.
  • January 3: Barangays 387, 383, 388, 385, and 386.
  • January 4: Barangays 390, 389, and 392.
  • January 5: Barangays 391 and 394. Another overnight vigil is scheduled for Barangay 394.

Return to Quiapo Church and Grand Feast

On the final day of the visitation, January 6, the Jesus Nazareno will visit Barangays 393 and 394. A procession will then escort the image back to its home in the Quiapo Church, concluding the barangay tour.

This sacred pilgrimage sets the stage for the main event: the annual feast of the Jesus Nazareno on January 9, 2026. On this day, millions of devotees are expected to gather in a powerful display of faith, many participating in the legendary Traslación procession.

The Barangay Visitation allows residents who cannot easily travel to the church to venerate the image in their own neighborhoods, fostering community spirit and deepening religious devotion ahead of the grand celebration.
