The Mactan Cebu International Airport-Authority (MCIAA) issued a media statement on Sunday, March 1, 2026, confirming the cancellations of Qatar Airways flights bound for Doha, Qatar, and Emirates flights headed to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Airlines Notify Passengers Amid Operational Changes
According to the MCIAA, both airlines have already informed their passengers about these disruptions. It is anticipated that these cancellations will impact the overall flow of passengers at MCIA, affecting not only specific flights but also the general efficiency of airport operations. The airspace restrictions in the Middle East stem from escalating military tensions and attacks involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
