DBM Greenlights Massive Funding for National Infrastructure and Education Projects
In a significant move to boost national development, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has officially approved the release of substantial funds for key public works and educational initiatives. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced this approval, highlighting the government's commitment to enhancing the country's infrastructure and addressing critical needs in the education sector.
Php 46.22 Billion Allocated for Infrastructure Development
The DBM has sanctioned Php 46.22 billion for a total of 1,743 infrastructure projects across the nation. This funding is primarily directed towards the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), with the aim of improving road connectivity and mobility. One notable project included in this allocation is the Davao City Bypass Construction Project, which has received over Php 288 million specifically for the year 2026. This initiative is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance transportation efficiency in the region.
Php 17.27 Billion Earmarked for Classroom Construction
In addition to infrastructure, the DBM has allocated Php 17.27 billion for the construction of 4,960 new classrooms under the Department of Education (DepEd). This funding is a direct response to the ongoing shortage of classrooms in the country, aiming to provide better learning environments for students nationwide. The move underscores the government's focus on strengthening the educational system and ensuring that schools have adequate facilities to support academic growth.
The approval of these funds marks a pivotal step in the government's efforts to drive economic progress and improve public services. By investing in both infrastructure and education, the administration aims to create a more connected and educated society, paving the way for sustainable development in the coming years.
