DFA Insists Two Passports of Zaldy Co Are Canceled
DFA: Two Passports of Zaldy Co Canceled

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has insisted that two passports of fugitive former congressman Elizaldy Co are canceled. This includes both the regular and diplomatic passports of the former lawmaker. In a statement, the agency said the status of Co's passports was immediately reported to the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) after they were canceled in December of last year. Therefore, it is possible that an expired passport was used by Co to cross into the Czech Republic. Regarding the other regular passport that expired in September 2022, which may have been used by Co in his travel from the Czech Republic to Germany, there was no need to cancel it because it was already expired and can no longer be used for international travel. It was previously reported that Co is currently in France seeking political asylum, after being placed in custody in the Czech Republic for an alleged immigration violation. The search for the former lawmaker is related to his alleged involvement in anomalous flood control projects of the government.
