3 drug suspects nabbed, minor rescued in Balamban

Three suspected drug personalities were arrested while a 13-year-old girl was rescued by police in separate anti-illegal drug operations on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Barangay Abucayan, Balamban town.

First arrest yields shabu and firearm

First to be arrested at 5:17 a.m. was Bryle Andie Dumdum Alegre, 26, single, and a resident of Sitio Upper Saksak in the said barangay. The operation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Balamban Police Station.

Confiscated from Alegre were 6.72 grams of shabu valued at PHP45,696, a .357 paltik revolver, and three rounds of ammunition.

Police Major Ian Macatangay, chief of Balamban Police Station, revealed that Alegre was responsible for the smuggling of illegal drugs into Barangay Abucayan.

Second operation nets two suspects, rescues minor

Another buy-bust operation was conducted in the same barangay at 11:30 a.m. on the same day, where two suspects were arrested and a minor was rescued.

The target was identified as Mark Kent Cedon, 22, single, and included in the drug watch list. Also arrested was his accomplice Ariel Obejero, 22, from Barangay Buanoy, Asturias town.

Rescued by police was the minor companion identified as Joy (not her real name), 13 years old, a resident of Barangay Pondol, Balamban.

Confiscated from the suspects were 2.95 grams of shabu estimated to be worth PHP20,000.
