The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) has been granted a total of 279 recruitment quotas for the upcoming 2026 recruitment cycle. This allocation is part of the region's ongoing efforts to bolster its manpower and improve the delivery of public safety services throughout the Negros Island Region.
Breakdown of Recruitment Quotas
According to Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong of the PRO-NIR Public Information Office, the allocation is divided into two categories. 111 quotas are designated for Regular Recruitment, while 168 quotas fall under Attrition Recruitment. The Attrition Recruitment is specifically intended to replenish personnel losses resulting from retirement, resignation, and other causes within the organization.
Recruitment Timeline and Procedures
Based on the approved recruitment timeline of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the acceptance of applications for the Regular Quota will be conducted from March 20 to March 30, 2026. This process will be facilitated by the Regional Recruitment and Selection Unit (RRSU NIR). During this period, qualified applicants may submit their documentary requirements for initial evaluation and processing.
For the Attrition Recruitment, the distribution of quotas to provincial directors, city directors, and chiefs of police will take place from March 20 to March 23, 2026. This will be followed by the convening of the Recruitment Screening Committee on March 24, 2026.
From March 25 to March 27, 2026, concerned police offices will post notices of recruitment in city and municipal halls, as well as other conspicuous places, to inform the public of the available opportunities. The activation of the Ad Hoc Screening Body by respective mayors is scheduled for March 30, 2026, ensuring transparency and compliance with recruitment procedures.
Application Period for Attrition Quota
The acceptance of applications for the Attrition Quota will run from March 31 to April 23, 2026. Applicants may submit their documents through the Chiefs of Police, City Police Stations, or Provincial Police Offices. During this stage, applicants will undergo necessary screening and evaluation by the designated Ad Hoc Body.
Commitment to Transparency and Merit-Based Recruitment
This development reflects the continuing commitment of the Philippine National Police to reinforce its ranks by welcoming competent, service-oriented, and community-driven individuals into the police service. The goal is to build a strong and responsive police force capable of addressing evolving public safety challenges.
PRO-NIR encourages aspiring applicants to begin preparing their documents and ensure they meet the qualifications set by the PNP recruitment system. The organization reaffirms its dedication to a transparent, merit-based, and equal opportunity recruitment process for all qualified applicants.
