Top Fugitive Captured in Coordinated Police Operation

Law enforcement authorities in Aklan have successfully apprehended the province's number one most wanted person, who was facing charges for statutory rape. The significant arrest occurred during a targeted operation in Barangay Poblacion, Ibajay, Aklan, on November 10, 2025, specifically at approximately 8:08 p.m.

Details of the Arrest and the Suspect

The individual taken into custody was identified as alias Toto, 35, single, and a resident of Ibajay, Aklan. His arrest was executed based on a warrant issued by the 6th Judicial Region, Branch 3, in Kalibo, Aklan, on November 7, 2025. The court's warrant notably carried no bail recommendation, underscoring the severity of the charges.

This operation was the result of a collaborative effort involving multiple police units. The forces that contributed to the successful capture include the 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company, the Ibajay Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Provincial Intelligence Team Aklan, the Regional Intelligence Unit in Western Visayas (RIU 6), the Aklan Trackers Team, and the Aklan Provincial Intelligence Unit.

Police Leadership Applauds Successful Operation

Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, the regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the operatives for their work. He highlighted the arrest as evidence of the region's ongoing commitment to pursuing justice.

"This achievement exemplifies our steadfast pursuit of justice and our commitment to sustaining peace and order across Western Visayas," Ligan stated. "This success highlights the dedication, vigilance, and professionalism of our personnel in ensuring that lawbreakers are held accountable."

He also issued a stern warning to other individuals evading the law: "Let this be a clear warning to lawbreakers: we will relentlessly pursue you until we put you behind bars."

The arrested suspect is currently under the custody of the Ibajay Municipal Police Station. He is awaiting proper disposition and will subsequently be turned over to the court where his case is pending.
