Iloilo Police Apprehend Regional No. 2 Most Wanted Person in Leganes Operation
In a significant law enforcement breakthrough, operatives from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) successfully arrested the second most wanted person at the regional level in Barangay Guinobatan, Leganes, Iloilo, on April 1, 2026. The arrest, carried out at approximately 5 p.m., was executed by the Tracker Team of the Leganes Municipal Police Station (MPS) based on a valid warrant for statutory rape.
Details of the Arrest and Legal Proceedings
The suspect, identified only by the alias Bon-Bon, is of legal age and a resident of Barangay Guinobatan. He was taken into custody pursuant to an arrest warrant issued in Criminal Case No. 26-97066. This case charges him with statutory rape under Article 266-A(1) in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act 8353 and further amended by RA 11648.
The warrant was officially issued and signed by the presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 27, in Iloilo City on March 31, 2026. Notably, no bail bond was recommended, underscoring the severity of the allegations. Following the arrest, authorities confirmed that the suspect is now detained at the Leganes MPS, awaiting proper legal disposition.
