Western Visayas' Top Most Wanted Suspect Arrested in Iloilo
Top Most Wanted Person Arrested in Iloilo Operation

Law enforcement authorities in Western Visayas have successfully apprehended the region's top most wanted person during a targeted manhunt operation in Iloilo province.

Major Breakthrough in Police Operation

Operatives from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Western Visayas (RMFB 6) captured the primary suspect known by the alias 'Romil' in Barangay San Julian, Janiuay, Iloilo. The arrest occurred at approximately 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, marking a significant achievement for regional law enforcement.

The 41-year-old suspect, who hails from Mina, Iloilo, was taken into custody through a coordinated effort involving multiple police units. The operation featured personnel from the 603rd Company of RMFB 6, supported by Battalion Headquarters RMFB 6, Janiuay Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit in Western Visayas (RIU 6), and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office's Provincial Intelligence Unit.

Serious Charges and Legal Proceedings

Romil faced serious legal charges that led to his designation as the region's most wanted individual. Authorities executed a Warrant of Arrest for rape by carnal knowledge under the Revised Penal Code, specifically in relation to Republic Act 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

The court handling the case demonstrated the severity of the charges by denying bail recommendation for the suspect. Following his apprehension, Romil was transferred to the Janiuay Municipal Police Station where he remains detained for documentation and proper case disposition.

Police Leadership Applauds Successful Operation

Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, the regional director of Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), expressed strong commendation for the joint operating units involved in the arrest. He emphasized the importance of their coordinated efforts and swift action in capturing the high-priority suspect.

"This is another step toward safeguarding our communities," General Ligan stated. "We continue to stand firm in our commitment to pursue and apprehend individuals wanted for serious offenses. Let us maintain our cooperation in building a peaceful and orderly Western Visayas."

The successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of inter-unit collaboration within the Philippine National Police system and reinforces the commitment to public safety throughout the Western Visayas region.
