Law enforcement authorities have successfully apprehended two wanted individuals in separate operations conducted across the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay and Lanao del Norte, as confirmed by police reports on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Details of the Arrests
Police Colonel Leo Sua, the director of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office, provided specific details regarding the arrests. The operations, which took place on Thursday, March 5, targeted a 48-year-old airport security guard and a 58-year-old farmer, both of whom had outstanding warrants for serious crimes.
Airport Security Guard Apprehended
The airport security guard was arrested in Purok Airways, Sanito village, located within Zamboanga Sibugay province. He faces a pending warrant of arrest for the crime of murder, which was issued on August 8, 2025, by a court in Tubod, Lanao del Norte. Notably, no bail has been recommended for his case, underscoring the severity of the charges.
Following his arrest, the individual was transported to the Ipil Municipal Police Station for initial processing. Authorities are currently preparing the necessary documentation to facilitate his transfer to the Kolambugan Municipal Police Station in Lanao del Norte for further legal proceedings.
Farmer Taken into Custody
In a concurrent operation, the farmer was arrested in Purok 5, Palao village, Tubod, Lanao del Norte. He is wanted for violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, with a warrant dated February 22, 2026, issued by the Tubod court in Lanao del Norte. A recommended bail bond of P24,000 has been set for his temporary liberty.
The arrested farmer is now under the custody of the Tubod Municipal Police Station, where he will undergo further disposition as part of the judicial process.
