Davao City Civil Registrar's Office Unveils Comprehensive Activities for Civil Registration Month

The Davao City Civil Registrar's Office (CCRO) has announced an extensive lineup of activities to celebrate Civil Registration Month throughout February 2026. This initiative aims to enhance public awareness and accessibility to vital registration services across the city.

Month-Long Celebration with Diverse Activities

During the recent I-Speak Media Forum on Thursday, CCRO Birth Division Head Nenita Hementera detailed the planned events, emphasizing collaboration with various clients and agencies. The celebration will commence with a motorcade in early February, setting the tone for a month dedicated to civil registration.

From February 16 to 21, tentative dates have been set for an information drive and mall tour at SM Lanang and SM Ecoland. These events are designed to engage the public directly, providing information on registration processes and services.

Key Events: Users' Forum and Enhancement Training

On February 26, the CCRO will host a users' forum and enhancement training session. The users' forum will bring together partners and stakeholders who regularly require civil registration records, fostering dialogue and improving service delivery.

The enhancement training on civil registration will involve hospital clerks responsible for preparing birth and death certificates, as well as funeral home staff. This training aims to standardize procedures and enhance the accuracy of vital records.

Mobile Civil Registration Schedules Across Barangays

To ensure wider accessibility, the CCRO has scheduled mobile civil registration services in multiple barangays throughout February. The tentative schedule includes:

  • Barangay Ladian, Marilog District: February 5
  • Barangay Bantol, Marilog District: February 10
  • Barangay Salumay: February 11
  • Barangay 5-A: February 12
  • Barangay Gumalang: February 13
  • Barangay Catalunan Grande: February 16
  • Barangay 19-B: February 17
  • Barangay 12-B: February 19
  • Barangay Bago Aplaya: February 23
  • Barangay Tapak: February 25
  • Matina Crossing: February 26
  • Barangay 21-C: February 27

Additional Outreach Initiatives

Hementera highlighted further outreach efforts, including a proposed activity with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) to cater to Persons Deprived of Liberty, ensuring their access to civil registration services.

Coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd) is also underway for a school caravan in public schools every Saturday in February, coinciding with the start of Brigada Eskwela. This initiative aims to integrate civil registration awareness into educational settings.

Staying Updated on Final Schedules

CCRO RA 9048 In-Charge Orlando Alvaira advised Dabawenyos to check the official CCRO Facebook page for updates on final dates of activities with tentative schedules. Additionally, the public can listen to CCRO's regular slot every Tuesday on the Madayaw Dabaw morning radio program aired on Davao City Disaster Radio for the latest information.

This comprehensive approach by the Davao City Civil Registrar's Office underscores its commitment to promoting civil registration and enhancing public service delivery throughout the community.
