The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) declared the White Ribbon March held on June 28, 2026, as generally peaceful and orderly. Thousands of members from various religious, progressive, and civil society groups participated in the event, which began with a holy mass led by Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo at the EDSA Shrine.
March Route and Attendance
The march commenced around 1:30 PM, proceeding from the EDSA Shrine to the EDSA People Power Monument. Participants safely reached the monument by 2:00 PM after a 30-minute walk, carrying placards and flags with the call to “Hold all involved accountable” regarding corruption issues. According to PMaj Hazel Asilo, NCRPO spokesperson, the crowd estimate reached 3,730 by 3:30 PM, with expectations that total participants could reach 5,000 by the program's conclusion at 8:00 PM.
Security Deployment
Over 2,000 police officers were deployed along the route from EDSA Shrine to the People Power Monument to ensure the safety of attendees. Asilo confirmed that the situation in Quezon City remained peaceful throughout the event.
Participant Voices
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Professor Hannah Shiena Sodela from St. Paul University Manila said she joined to encourage the youth to become aware and fight for honest governance. Human rights lawyer Maria Kristina Conti emphasized that corruption was the main reason for her participation, urging the government to listen to the people's call. Zoe Caballero of the Center for True Agrarian Reform stressed the importance of peaceful actions to demonstrate the voice and strength of the citizenry.
