The Philippine National Police (PNP) has assured that all security preparations are complete for the celebration of the 128th Independence Day on Friday, June 12.
Heightened Security at Key Locations
In addition to traditional venues such as Rizal Park, the PNP, under the leadership of General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., has tightened security around the Senate and the House of Representatives.
This measure is taken in anticipation of possible protests related to the current political situation in the country. The PNP has coordinated with officials of these establishments for immediate security adjustments if needed.
No Serious Threats Detected
Despite these precautions, the PNP clarified that they have not received any serious security threats for the celebration. However, they remain on alert to ensure a peaceful and orderly Independence Day nationwide.
