The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) has posthumously awarded its highest honor, the Gold Gallantry and Heroism Award, to Scout Chris Lorenz Fabian, who died after sacrificing his life to save fellow students during a violent school shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City.
Heroic Act During School Shooting
According to the BSP, Fabian displayed exceptional courage and selflessness by prioritizing the safety of others over his own in the face of extreme danger. The organization emphasized that his sacrifice will serve as an inspiration for future generations of Scouts and is proof that true heroism is measured by the lives saved, not by the length of life.
Recognition and Legacy
In a statement, the BSP paid tribute to Fabian, ensuring that the memory of his name, bravery, and heroism will remain alive. The Gold Gallantry and Heroism Award is the highest recognition given by the BSP for acts of extraordinary valor.
