Ridon, Imee Marcos clash over ex-marine allegation

Bicol Saro Party-list Representative Terry Ridon and Senator Imee Marcos engaged in a heated social media exchange following allegations that emerged during a Blue Ribbon Committee hearing led by the Cayetano bloc. A former marine identified as Rosebert Waupan testified that he saw a suitcase delivered to Ridon and loaded into a BMW vehicle in Quezon City.

Testimony Details

“Sir Terry Ridon. I saw, sir, that his car was a BMW, sir… A suitcase as well, sir,” Waupan stated during the hearing. In response, Senator Marcos posted a quote card featuring part of the testimony with the caption, “Don’t be so TERRY TERRY!”—a reference to actress Maricel Soriano’s line from the film “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.”

Ridon's Denial

Ridon immediately responded on social media, denying the allegation. “How low can you go,” he said in a statement that drew varied reactions online. Prior to the exchange, Ridon had already strongly refuted the claim. “The testimony is a lie… No suitcase was delivered to me at any time or in any place,” he asserted.

Impeachment Trial Continues

As one of the House prosecutors in the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte, Ridon emphasized that such allegations would not affect their work. “Remember: The impeachment trial continues. No lie or fabricated testimony can stop the House prosecution panel,” he added.

The online clash highlights the tension surrounding the ongoing investigation and the impeachment proceedings.
