A 17-year-old incoming Grade 12 student was raped after attending her classmate's debut party on Monday, June 1, 2026, in Barangay Langtad, Naga City. The victim, identified by the alias Kylie, resides in Barangay East Poblacion, Naga City.
The suspect, alias Timothy, 24, is a Senior High School student from Barangay Awihao, Toledo City, and is the cousin of the birthday celebrant.
According to the investigation by Police Staff Sgt. Catherine Rose Villegas of the Women’s and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) as told to Superbalita Cebu, Kylie attended the birthday party at a venue adjacent to a beach resort in Barangay Langtad, Naga, on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
The victim and suspect first met during the party. After the event, some guests moved to the nearby beach resort for an after-party. They were with other companions inside a rented room at the resort. The group reportedly consumed alcohol until dawn, and they fell asleep in the room early Monday morning.
At around 8:00 a.m., Kylie noticed Timothy beside her, touching her private parts. The victim was unable to seek help due to fear, and the suspect proceeded to rape her. After the incident, the victim called her older sister to rescue her and confided about what happened.
The victim's family reported the rape, prompting the Naga police to launch an operation. The suspect was arrested at around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1. The suspect neither admitted nor denied the crime. He will face rape charges, pending the results of an examination at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center's pink room where the victim will be examined.
