The 1901st Ready Reserve Infantry Brigade, led by Brig. Gen. Erik Miguel Espina of the 7th Regional Community Defense Group (7RCDG), conducted a Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Training at Camp Lapu-Lapu. The CMO is a vital component of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to support communities during emergencies and disasters. It also aims to deepen the connection between the government and the people, especially in remote areas.

Training Details

The event was held with the permission and support of the 7RCDG under the leadership of Col. Ricky N. Parcon, in coordination with the Joint Task Group-Cebu and the Civil-Military Operations Regiment, both based at Camp Lapu-Lapu. The instructor for the training was 1Lt. Bhea Jeem B. Docyogen, an officer of the 14th CMO Battalion, an experienced radio broadcaster, and a graduate of the Officer Candidate School in the Philippines.

Key Messages

In her speech, Docyogen emphasized the importance of good relations between reservists and Local Government Unit (LGU) officials to bring government services closer to the people. She also explained that the continuous presence of soldiers and reservists through programs like the Medical and Dental Civic Action Program (Medcap) helps restore public trust and serves as a pathway to guide individuals who have strayed from the right path back into the fold of the law.
