PHLPost Opens New Matina Roadside Post Office in Davao with Extended Hours
New Davao Post Office Opens with Extended Mall Hours

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has officially inaugurated a new service facility in Davao City, marking a significant upgrade in local mail and logistics access. The Matina Roadside Acceptance Post Office (MRA-PO) began full operations on January 14, 2026, offering a modern and convenient option for sending and receiving items.

Designed for Convenience and Extended Access

Strategically situated along the busy MacArthur Highway, this new office is built around a "stop-and-drop" concept. This design prioritizes efficiency, allowing commuters and residents to handle their postal needs quickly without significant detours from their daily routes.

A key feature of the Matina branch is its customer-centric operating schedule. Breaking from traditional post office hours, it follows a mall-like schedule:

  • Open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Operational Monday through Saturday

This extension is specifically tailored to assist professionals, including those in the legal, judicial, government, and private sectors, who often need to submit official correspondence or urgent documents after standard business hours conclude.

Comprehensive Services for All Needs

The Matina Roadside Acceptance Post Office is not a limited service point. It provides a full suite of postal solutions to cater to personal, business, and commercial requirements. Residents can avail of the following core services:

Registered Mail for secure, tracked delivery of important documents.
Express Mail Service (EMS) for fast domestic and international shipping.
Parcel Post services to support e-commerce sellers and personal package senders.
Postage and Philately, including the sale of stamps and collectible items.

A Step Towards Modernized Public Service

In a statement, PHLPost Area Director Bruce S. Concepcion emphasized that this new facility reflects the agency's dedication to adapting to the evolving lifestyles of its clients. By choosing a convenient location and implementing extended operating hours, PHLPost aims to make its services inclusive and accessible to a broader segment of the community.

The new post office is now actively serving the Matina-Davao community. PHLPost encourages the public to visit and experience a more streamlined and accessible mailing process, designed to fit seamlessly into the rhythm of modern city life.
