Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival personally led the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, January 8, 2026. He was joined by key figures from the organizing Cebu Executives Running Club (CERC), including its president, Jesse Taborada, alongside notable members John Pages and Meyrick Jacalan.
The event also saw the presence of local government and sports authorities, demonstrating strong institutional support. Cebu City Councilor Jose Abellanosa, former councilor Mary Ann delos Santos, and Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) chairman Rhoel Dejano were all in attendance to witness the expo's inauguration.

The upcoming marathon has garnered massive interest, with registration numbers reaching an impressive 11,549 runners. The event has successfully attracted a global audience, with confirmed participants hailing from 47 different countries, cementing its status as a major international marathon destination.
