Judiciary Fun Run 2026 in Davao Celebrates Supreme Court's 125th Anniversary

Dominique R. Fuentes and Mary Ann L. Colindres emerged as the champions of the 10-kilometer race during the Nationwide Simultaneous Judiciary Fun Run 2026, held at Azuela Cove in Davao City on Sunday, March 22. Approximately 500 members of the judiciary gathered for this significant event, which was organized as part of the 125th founding anniversary celebrations of the Supreme Court of the Philippines.

Victorious Runners Lead the Pack

Fuentes, representing the Regional Trial Court Branch 6 (Family Court), secured the top position in the men's 10K division, while Colindres, from RTC Branch 43 in Koronadal, dominated the women's field. Their achievements highlighted the competitive spirit of an event designed to foster unity and physical fitness among legal professionals.

Additional Winners Across Various Categories

Other notable winners included Rolly B. Carnalna and Judge Zarah Aguinsado-Silvosa, who claimed victory in the 1.25K male and female divisions, respectively. Jeremiah N. Caballero and Rosalie M. Santiago captured the 3K titles, and Louise L. Edig topped the women's 5K category. These results showcased the diverse athletic talents within the judiciary community.

Diverse Participation from the Legal Sector

The Davao leg of the fun run reflected the extensive reach and diversity of the region's legal community. Participants included judges from both first- and second-level courts, court employees, and key stakeholders from the justice sector. Notable attendees came from the Public Attorney's Office, the Office of the Ombudsman, prosecutors under the Department of Justice, and members of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. Participants traveled from across the 11th Judicial Region, encompassing areas such as Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao de Oro, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, South Cotabato, Sarangani, and Surigao del Sur, as well as the highly urbanized cities of Davao City and General Santos City. This widespread participation underscored the event's success in drawing a region-wide turnout.

The activity, themed "SPJI: In Full Speed," highlighted the judiciary's commitment to resilience and teamwork. This theme was vividly demonstrated not within the confines of courtrooms, but along the race course, symbolizing a dynamic and proactive approach to community engagement and health.
