Former Cleveland Cavaliers teammates LeBron James and Kevin Love might soon be playing together again, this time for the Los Angeles Lakers. ESPN's Marc Spears reported the potential reunion on NBA Today.
James and Love Eyeing Lakers Reunion
Spears stated, "James is likely coming back," and added that Love "could likely be joining the Lakers, too." Both players recently attended a 10-year anniversary celebration in London for the 2016 Cavaliers team that famously overcame a 3-1 deficit to defeat the 73-win Golden State Warriors.
James and Love are set to become unrestricted free agents on June 30, 2026. While James is expected to re-sign with the Lakers, Love could provide valuable frontcourt depth off the bench. The 38-year-old big man played last season for the Utah Jazz on a $4.15 million contract, averaging 6.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 37 games despite often being a healthy scratch for the lottery-bound Jazz.
