The festive spirit in Barangay Tungkil, Cebu City, was amplified by sports as the Litoda Driving Squad emerged victorious in the Deca Homes P-1 Christmas League 40-Up. They secured the championship title after a hard-fought battle against the Green Team last Saturday, December 13, 2025.
A Championship Clash at Deca Phase 1 Court
The final game, held at the Deca Phase 1 basketball court, saw Litoda Driving Squad establish control early on. Under the guidance of playing-coach Rick Jucson, the team managed the game's tempo. However, their opponents, the Green Team, put up a resilient fight despite being undermanned.
A significant setback for the Green Team was the absence of their key player, Edward Baquir, who was reportedly busy with a golf match. Despite also missing other players, the Green Team, led by Jay-R Henil, mounted several scoring runs that challenged Litoda's lead. Ultimately, the driving force of Litoda proved too strong, closing the game with a 56-50 scoreline.
Awarding Ceremony Honors Champions and Organizers
The formal awarding ceremony took place on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the same venue. Barangay Tungkil Councilor Joy-joy Isiang presided over the event and presented the championship trophy to the triumphant Litoda Driving Squad.
Individual excellence was also recognized, with Josephus Solis of Litoda being awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title for the entire tournament. The league had commenced in mid-November 2025.
