Ayo Dosunmu erupts for 43 points, Timberwolves beat Nuggets 112-96 for 3-1 lead
Dosunmu's 43 leads Timberwolves past Nuggets 112-96

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets 112-96 in Game 4 of their Western Conference quarterfinals at Target Center on Sunday, April 26, 2026 (PH time), taking a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Guard Ayo Dosunmu erupted for a career-high 43 points off the bench, shooting an impressive 13-for-17 from the field. His performance powered a short-handed Timberwolves squad that played without star Anthony Edwards for much of the game.

Edwards, a four-time All-Star, exited in the second quarter with a possible left knee injury. Earlier in the first half, guard Donte DiVincenzo also left for the locker room after injuring his right leg in a non-contact play. Reports indicate DiVincenzo may have ruptured his Achilles tendon.

With both players sidelined, Minnesota leaned on Dosunmu's hot hand. Naz Reid added 17 points off the bench, Julius Randle contributed 15 points and nine rebounds, and Rudy Gobert grabbed a game-high-tying 15 rebounds.

In the final seconds of the game, tensions flared between Nuggets bigman Nikola Jokic and Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels. McDaniels scored an open layup despite the game being decided, prompting Jokic to confront him and push him toward the Minnesota bench. Players, coaches, and referees quickly intervened.

"Clock still be running," McDaniels said. "So, I'm going to go score."

Jokic added: "I don't regret it. Because he scored after everybody stopped playing."

The Timberwolves have now won three straight games after losing Game 1 of the series.
